In my teenage, I was part of this Brazilian heavy metal forum called "Metal4ever". Beyond music, concept art was a big part of the community — because it was a way to show others what bands and styles we were interested in. I got very drawn to this kind of graphics and that was my very first time exploring Photoshop.
At a certain point, I was not only designing my signatures but for other members of the community. That was fun! I realised that helping people and seeing their happiness through design was rewarding.
My passion for web development started not so long after that. I was introduced to a back-end language by my uncle and that was when I began to teach myself how to code. That was when I realised that I could create and build things.
I was fascinated with the possibility of creating visuals and experiences on my own for other people.
Once I left the army, I decided to pursue my career as a Designer and had the opportunity to join a digital agency as a Design Intern. I got hired as a full-time Designer & Front-end Developer. It was my first experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and I absolutely loved that.
Fast forward, to 2015, I relocated to Kuala Lumpur to work as an Art Director. Led a creative team of designers and copywriters. We were mostly working on social media campaigns for brands in Southeast Asia such as L’Oréal, Coca-Cola, The North Face and Dairy Farm Group.
Later, I decided to join Maybank's Design Team as a Product Designer. There, I was responsible for designing their new consumer app MAE by Maybank2u.
Subsequently, I joined Jibble — it was my first remote job. I partnered with the Design Lead to define Jibble's new visual direction and led a few experiences as part of the redesign of its app and web product.
I'm now working on Agent Experience and Marketplace Trust at PropertyGuru. Before that, I was leading initiatives to improve conversion and overall consumer experience.
